Heritage Open Days – In Person Open Day

12 Sep 2021 - 12 Sep 2021

FREE ENTRY – Sunday 12 September 2021 – Not a steaming day

On Friday we bravely embraced the digital world and hosted a free Virtual Open Day here at Crofton. Our ‘visitors’ took a guided tour, and heard about Crofton’s Cornish Connection without leaving the comfort of their own homes.

Today is an opportunity to explore Crofton in person, once again for FREE.
Both the Virtual and In Person events are our special contribution to the annual Heritage Open Days Festival – England’s largest festival of history and culture

Though the Station will not be in steam, visitors can explore each room of the Station and view 200 years of history.

With new interpretation panels and a team of dedicated, knowledgeable volunteers, visitors can learn the fascinating history and engineering of the site, all whilst inches away from the beam engines themselves. A craft activity on the #EdibleEngland Heritage Open Day theme will be available in the grounds.

We’ve added the craft activities for you to make at home as we are now experts at helping our Virtual Visitors! Please click on the buttons below. We hope you have as much fun creating as we did designing!
